strobe

I finally finished her! I submitted a pencil sketch quite a while back and just now complete it.

At first I was going to make it more like a comic book illustration, but then decided to paint it in a more realistic look.

Strobe is a character I created some years ago. She is the product of genetic experimentation (who isn't?) in which her genes were spliced with those of a hummingbird and an electric eel.

Why such an odd combination? Well, earlier experiments in creating a human with super fast hummingbird qualities resulted in too much static electricity being built up, causing the death of the subject. The eel genes enable her to harness the excess energy and release it as a devastating weapon.

Don't ask why she's in space. I'm an artist, not a scientist.
